I have a buddy with a 35 Ford five window coupe. He called me looking for a price. Mostly original car with a later  8BA engine and a 39 trans, it does run. fair interior, 35 wire wheels with decent tires. It still has mechanical brakes. Solid body with original paint, some rust but no holes visible. Needs a radiator, but has a new original type wire harness.

Any idea on price.

If you get him to believe it's worth $500 and I buy it, there's $500 in it for you too....😬

5 winders aren't the holy grail that 3 windows seem to be. A picture or two would be pretty helpful. Until then my call is that it's project car worth maybe 4 to 5K.

The only time I see anything sell for more than a bargain is when 2 crazies are involved at an auction. I would think it would be worth in between 3 and 5 but I might be the most incorrect person with an opinion. That car might be very valuable to a restorer but not so much to the hot rod guy that will throw all the drive train away and just have a body and frame.

Thanks for your opinion guys. You are in the same ball park as me on price. It might be worth more to a restorer as the original parts are mostly there, and in decent shape. But there aren't many restorers out there any more.

I was watching the Mecum auction last weekend in Schaumburg, IL and on Thursday a collection of project cars was offered. There was a rough '35 5-window with an estimate of $3,000 - $5,000. Nothing but springs for an interior, very heavy surface rust, all original (non) running gear.  I couldn't find the final bid on line but I think it was around 4500. There is a pic of it on the Mecum site.

I've been watching some 60s-70s Fords lately and I have a friend building a Model A highboy so my observations maybe aren't apples to apples, but it doesn't look like prices aren't on a rocket at the moment. Even the desirable collector cars for people with real money seem to be holding pretty steady.
