I have a 700R4 transmission in my 32, it had a mechanical speedometer and I'm changing to electric VSS.
I have installed a 40 tooth steel reluctor in the trans.  The car has a 3.43 rear gear.
I'm using a Dakota Digital dash which will use 4000 to 128000 PPM.  Also using a Rostra Cruise which will use 2000 to 38600 PPM.
I need the hall effect VSS that fits the trans (2.25" dia)
GM used a 25007308 part that is not available, but you can get an aftermarket part.

Which or what part # do I use?

And what is the PPM output?

Can the output wires be split for the speedometer and cruise?

It's hard to find the right info, so please help if you can.

I will try to find you the information later today.  I used that cruise control with a Autometer electronic speedometer on the 54 Chevy and I had to use a 3 wire powered reluctor to get the cruise to work.  The 54 has a 200r but I think the part is the same.  I should have the information but it will be with a whole bunch of other notes and tickets and it may take a while to find.

I can not find the info on the signal generator.     The thing I remember is that the two wire version did not work and I had to use the 3 wire or powered version.  Or at least I remember it did not work with out being powered.   I remember I had trouble with the signal getting to the gauge.  I looked at the Dakota Digital web site and they listed their senders but nothing seemed quite like I remembered.   I would call their tech department and see what they recommend.  Their brand cruise control is a Rosta rebrand I believe.

I did have a note that I used the output connection on the speedometer to send the signal to the cruise control.

PPM is pulse per mile. If John can't find his note, I'll do some digging. :)

Here is the thing you need. It's called a VSSB and it splits the signal so it can be used on the speedometer and cruise control. They seldom go bad they are under the dash and have a tag on them with the part number and id as a VSSB, or a four out buffer.

Here is the hall effects pickup  http://oemcats.com/oem-parts/25007308.html They also have a better price on the VSSB

Thanks for all the help.
I talked to Dakota Digital and the new VHX dash will take any PPM signal from the sensor (GM25007305 VSS) and correct it for the speedometer.  The VHX dash has an output for the cruise control of 4000PPM.  No buffer needed.
All our stuff is becoming more complex, but I'm still learning in my old age.
