I don't remember how this works??
'46 Ford open drive  rear end  -- C4 Ford trans
When I jacked it up to check out brakes
And in PARK---BOTH WHEELS STILL TURN FREELY ?
I just lost the thought train for awhile'  IS this correct?  Thanks

WZ JUNK

Are they both turning the same direction?

As long as one wheel turns in the opposite direction ,(ie: left forward /  right backward), all is fine with the world ...... 8)

In park, with an open rear and both wheels are in the air, they should turn opposite directions. The spider gears inside are what is moving, not the ring gear.
