Just got my renewal from Grundy and it has gone up $102 for the premium. Went from $326 to $428 for the year. Anybody else experiencing this? Not bad for a policy where the car sits in the garage for 6 months and then gets driven for maybe 600 miles the other 6 months.

Just talked to Grundy and they had to increase thje deductible rate for New York, hence the increase in the premium. You can request an increase to the new deductible and that will decrease the premium by 75 dollars. Probably should have done that before I posted this message.

UGLY OLDS

Does Grundy offer a 10 percent NSRA discount like some of the other companies  :?:

Just a thought...

A friend of mine has a similar car to mine but the agreed value on his with Grundy is several thousand dollars more than mine but his premium was about $100.00 a year less than mine.  We both live in the Chicago suburbs.  I was told if I increase the agreed value my premiums would go down!  So I called Grundy, asked to increase the agreed value by $2,000.00.  After checking with the underwriter the amount was approved but I was told if I increased the agreed value by $7,000.00 I would reduce my premium even more.  After thinking about it for .2 nano seconds I agreed to the $7K bump and reduced my premium $97.00 a year.  When I tell people this they look at me like I'm speaking Portuguese because they can't comprehend an insurance company reducing premiums for more coverage.  I guess Grundy feels that the more the car is worth the more careful you will be.
