Finally got my Model A out after 15 years of sitting. When I put it away back then I had a collector leak and I had bought these copper gaskets that were suppose to work good for leaks. The kit came with 2 copper gaskets and 2 hard fiber like gaskets that  almost feels like aluminum. My question is does it matter where I put the gaskets? Copper on top and fiber on bottom or the other way around. I don't remember getting any info with the gaskets. Any info or advise would be great. Years ago when I drove the car I always had collector leaks.

I don't use any gaskets at the manifold if the headers are good. Don't have any problems with bolts loosening either. The donuts are scintered metal & will conform to your exhaust pipe when tightened. Shouldn't have any leaks if everything lines up properly.

collector leaks often occur when the collector bolts are overtightened causing the flanges to bend . Check to make sure your flanges are flat . then I would put the copper gaskets to the outside with that aluminum piece between them

re read your post  , you have one of each. Have you tried ultra copper silicone in there ? I have found it to work well .

Thanks for the info.  Should I put a bead of the ultra copper sealer around all the mating surfaces and let it dry or skin up and put it together with the copper gaskets?

I really don't remember  ,but I think I would assemble it wet and let it cure assembled . You will have a time of it trying to dis assemble it if done this way .

My procedure is to clean both surfaces w/ laquer thinner, assemble & finger tighten the bolts, let the silicone cure overnight & final tighten bolts the next day. I've even had SBC valve covers not leak using this procedure!!
