Lost my father in law last night . We were at his side and it was peaceful , he was ready. Still hurts even though its for the best. He was a retired teacher . He lost his mother at a young age which made him very helpful to me when the same occurred to me . We didn't always agree with each other but he would always respect my opinion and I his. He will be missed

Having recently gone through this with my dad, I know how you are feeling. I didn't cry with dad, even though I felt like it, he never liked that. But I did cry at my father in laws funeral.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

My condolences, it's never easy, even when you know it's coming and it's for the best.
