Anybody used coilovers on a front straight axle?  4 bar setup , with panhard bar?

you could also go with buggy spring suicide style , but I like the coilover idea best . You could get some adjustable coilovers  and be well on your way with available spring rates and shock settings.

Tony, from the pic you put up on the "what are you doing today" thread it looks like there should be room for them ahead of the axle. I like it, very racy looking.

Here are some photos of a buddy's Speedstar. Alloway built 2 of these chassis with coil over front axles instead of IFS. I have ridden a couple hundred miles  in this car. It rides as well as any IFS, but obviously not like a late model sedan.

Speedway has a 6 in. drop axle for the parallel leaf gasser kit.

At least in the case of coil overs you can change spring rates easily and affordably should it turn out you need something different.

Different car than the Simca I posted with engine installed.   Looking at different methods for suspension on tube axle.  Simple is better for me.

how about torsion bar stuff ? check out some of the sprint car stuff, it takes up very little space and must be quite tuneable.
