Thank YOU 'kb426'

I looked every place I could think of except the Model A vendors that I deal with all the time.  LIVE AND LEARN.          LOL

Thanks again,
Mike

wow.  than you all.. that answers a question to a product i pointed out was needed many years ago... to a museum curator with large displays hanging from the rafters but in a position where they could swing into each other or to the walls if there was a quake.. those springs could easily dampen the swing before it got out of hand and not snap the anti swing cables.

i will have to contact the people down at century spring in los angeles and see if they could wind me some extended length prototypes to show to the curator.  there is room on there to install some custom strong arms also that are actually just dampers instead of extension cylinders..

Thanks Canuck,

Pretty impressive set and NOT cheap but well worth the money.

I will try to come up with my own design first.......nice to know that I have a good option.  I like to use the "KISS" method as much as I can.

Should have my monster on the road in a few months.  It's been 6 + years.

Thanks again,
Mike

Just a idea, but how about 3 or 4 small coil expansion springs from the home center mounted to a pair of cross piece joiners top and bottom.  Think a mini version of one of those chest expander muscle builder sets.

Cross pieces could be made out of a couple of scraps of stainless or aluminum and polished.  One for each hood hold down.
