Interesting read.  Similar stuff I've read over the years.  

I ran Castrol Syntec oil 15+ yrs ago.. in my 1971 chev truck. Put alot of miles on that truck , so I watched the oil pressure at idle when mileage hit 4k or higher on dyno oil compared to the Syntec stuff.  The Syntec held oil pressure better.

Diesel oil and additives is something I have used for a few years in the older engines I have. In my Falcon inline 6 engine, all I have run for oil is Rotella or the Delo Chevron stuff.  Usually a little Comp Cams oil additive.
