Anyone here have experience using the new "leadless" body solders? I have several areas on my Coupe body I want to lead out for strength.

Can it be added over existing lead?

What are the specs on this new stuff ?

The old 60/40 Lead Tin Alloy created an alloy,
with a lower melting temp than either of the components.

The melting temp on the new stuff is higher,
so going over old Lead might be a problem.

I've got some Pewter in bar form, 92% Tin.
Might work OK, if you want to try it.

Thanks for the offer. I still have enough 30/70 lead to do what I need. I am just exploring my options and just curious about the newer product.

off topic are you in need of more pewter? There is a Facebook group called Artists Garage sale and one of the listings is bulk pewter...

I've got a 25lb box I haven't opened. But will look for that page. Thanks.

I haven't tried the new stuff, Johnsons' sells it and i might try some one day.
I been scarfing up all the old rolls of solder and flux that i can find at the yardsale/flea market events.  It is very inexpensive right now, in another 20 years it'll be tough to get any.
