any one use this light bulb?
They are called switch back.
They are leds and are white lights but turn yellow when you turn on your turn signals.
I seen them on e bay

how about looking at the Youtube video of it being tested..

now.. to answer the question.. how will the light from the side be seen behind you ...

from the reflector ...   works the same in most cars...

ever notice that if you cannot find the proper tail light socket or it falls out the light is reduced...  the filaments need to be at the proper focal length or height in the housing to allow the optimal spread of the light.  

remember a while back about putting newer bulbs into 20's or 30's headlights.. the element height inside is wrong and somebody figured out a way to fix it..
