Of all the engines you have available, what transmissions do you have?  might narrow the choices down

Keep it all Ford.A 391 Ford. I had a pile of 360/361/390/391 engines kicking around. I fiddlled around and put together a balanced and blueprinted one..using one of the very mild factory cams. Into my 1972 F250 4x4. I don't think any engine has as much meat in the heads..OR as sloppy castings..especially the combustiion chambers. Anyone that complains about newer paper thin castings should have to cc a few of these !! I can't believe how low an actual compression ratio I ended up with. That's ok..it took tons of advance!! Had ZERO acceleration. Made just about any engine I had ever built seem LACKING in low end haha.

Or maybe go with a 534!
