the saga continues. The float on the fuel level sender leaks . I have emptied it and found the crack. Would jbweld fix it ? I dont know how it would behave submersed in fuel, anyone ever tried it?

Had that happen with my '89 Ford Ranger pu. Dorman sold a replacement plastic float for my application. Maybe yours too. Be glad, I filled my gas tank to find the problem. GPster

Depends. Depends on the additives in the fuel where you live.OR whether they have added more OR whether JB..or anyone else NOW
has a gasoline additive resistant glue.
I USED to be able to fix leaking gas tanks. Last time I tried was in about
2003..at that time there was NOTHING that I could find that was resistant
to the additvies in the gas here in S. Ontario..
Sealall used to work really well..as did JB..as did fiberglas.resin etc as did other products dubbed "gas tank sealer"
I contacted a company here in Toronto that lines tanks and they knew
of nothing that still worked.
