I picked up this steering rack on a trade deal the other day. It's out of a Chevette, shortened radically, and I think it will work on the race car. My thought is to mount it to the back of the axle, and run the steering shaft to it, with a support and U joint in the shaft the same length as the four bar length. There should be little or no length change at that point, but I figure a slip joint can't hurt. That is a 6" rule in the picture

Any thoughts on this?

Should we figyre out mounts for it on the axel before we have the axel ends TIG welded on? Is there enough travel in the rack to get full steering with the Volvo spindles?Dumb questions I know but it's early. GPster

You are correct. Now to figure out if it can be reversed like a Jag. Or trade it off again.

Why not flip it and use it like a unisteer.
