Menards has these sleds on sale in several colors, for $1.50. They are made of polypropelene, and make excellent spring liners. I picked up a couple in black, just in case I need them. You can get two springs out of one sled in most cases.

Great idea! I would imagine that you'd have to strap the spring or use spring clamps if you installed sliders in it.? What do you use to retain leaf alignment?
What\'s that noise?,,, Never mind,, I\'ll check it later

It's not been a problem for me, the U bolts seem to hold every thing in place.

Too bad the name "super slide" is already taken. :)

Even the pro touring sites will often recommend leaf springs with liners and a good pair of shocks, with maybe a second leaf that's long in front like the old Mopar Super Stock springs...at least on street-driven cars that don't see heavy autocross or track day duty. Detroit didn't use leaf springs all those decades because they didn't work.

Considering the price from the shops is from $7 to $26, $1.50 os a pretty good deal.

Excellent!

We don't have Menards here abouts. Do they have any brand marking? Can you tell how to ID polypropolene? Is it the stuff that has a waxy feel?

You can get UHMW from almost any plastic supply house.
It comes in various widths and thickness's.
It is similar in characteristics to Teflon but about 1/3 the price.
Costs about 3 or 4 bucks to line a model A spring.
It will stay in alignment as long as the spring is not twisted or in a bind.

The brand name is Wacky Carpet.

Is there any benefit for springing the extra $$ for the spring liner with the molded in lips along the side to help keep them in alignment?

Up here have only seen the carpet style sliders ( Crazy Carpet ) in bright red, blue, etc.  never black.

I've not had a problem with them moving. No problem finding black ones here.
