AC leak question

my freon from my vintage air unit on my 57 chevy leaked out after 1 yr. I bought some134a with leak sealer & uv dye. can I use a black light bulb to check for the yellow-green glow? thanks

Depending on where the leak is you might see it without the blacklight.

You might try looking for any place you see an oily substance, like from hose fittinds, on the condesor tubes and like that. When the freon leaks out, it takes some refrigerant oil with it, hence the traces of oil at the leak site.
