Here's a snapshot of the latest project.  It's a 1980 Jeep CJ-7.  It'll carry the tag GPSTER.

That's a nice foundation to do whatever you'd like.  LOTS of accessories available for those. I love jeeps and hotrods! :D  I lost it with mine and tore it down for a complete build-up, I don't recommend that. :?  Use and enjoy it. 8)  I lost several years of enjoyment doing it the other way and neglected my hotrod. This is an old pic, it's finished now as is the shop.
What\'s that noise?,,, Never mind,, I\'ll check it later

The Ranger is going to stay. I still need to haul yard and garden waste and no better than I back I don't think I'm in line for a trailer. There are a pile of "Nit Pickin" fixes that need to be made  and probably the first thing will be to work on the shackles. They're "Home-made" out of 3/8' X 2" strap iron and they only have one set of holes drilled in them. They also have no "H" shape cross brace to them. I'd like to trade myself out of that set of tires (35") and down to something more reasonable. Maybe 31" which it will probably stand because it has a "body lift" kit on it. I don't care if it's beautiful. I'm ready for something to drive that doesn't have red light to remind me that it's smarter than me. GPster

Now those are REAL Jeeps.

I never had a Jeep of my own but have a lot of good memories of times spent in Jeeps of friends.

that jeep really does bring back memories for me too..

growing up in the mountains.. mom and dad bought a 43 willys MB.. we went everywhere in that.. including up some roads so steep.. that we had to get out to let mom make it up the steepest part of the hill...

my brother got stuck on a beach with it.. when the tide came in.. the only way out was up the hillside to a parking lot at the top.. went right up and over..  right across the telephone used as a guard rail...  high centering it... a short walk to the bar got some fine help.. they all came out and lifted it off...

there was one road.. that had a silt hole... sunk in almost  to the floor boards...  took the model 20 cat to pull it free...

i still see it running around once in a while.. the new owner  restored it back to full mil spec...  except for the depressions below the drivers foot opening.. where the shovel handles were aligned..

it had been to europe during the war as there was a belgium military uniform button under the fuel tank...

i did learn one thing about the 80s and 90s jeeps...  the ones with the aluminum clutch master cylinders...   if you have trouble shifting.. like the clutch is not releasing all the way..   don't pull the transmission.... dip a clean rag into the clutch master .... does it come out with little metal flakes..    just bleed the system a few times... to get rid of all the metallic aluminum flakes.. then replace the clutch master ..  some of the new replacements are made from cast iron..  the angle of the clutch master push rod causes the sharp corners of the piston to dig a groove in the aluminum bore...  a quick and easy fix... if you know what to look for...

and then there is this...

Looks good, Joe.

I had 10 Jeeps before Courtland came along. My first car was a '78 CJ5 with a 304, then a 360, then a 304 (teenager...) I ran as high as 33" without any lift and up to 39.5" with a body lift and Superlift springs and a flipped rear axle. Best one was a 360 with police interceptor top end from AJ's junk yard in Sylvania. The TH400 mated to that with the 10% overdrive chain would spin all 4 tires and climb a mountain if you asked it to. Glass bodies are great for play but suck to get everything mounted right when you try to run a hard top. Last one I bought was from 4WD Diversified in Toledo. $1442.10 with the flip front end...that's been...20+ years ago. Sold it when Court was about 3-4 months old.
