front springs

A friend has a 40  Chevy sedan w/the usual 350/350 combo  and a Nova rear steer front clip. He needs new front springs 'cause  he got carried away chopping his old ones. Would v8 or 6 cyl springs be a better choice? THANKS

I'd use V8 springs
