Amp output of GM 12 volt generators

I am still toying with the idea of going back to a generator on my 37 chevy p/u and was wondering about the amp output of those generators.

you are aware...

that there are alternators built into generator looking housings..


they might even be one wire units..

I believe generators were in the 25 to 30 amp range.

Why would you want to do that? Alternators are a lot better than generators. Are you going for the old timey look?

I have beem making the 235 look as much like the original 216 as I can and the alternator just looks out of place,I know about the Powergen unit but its just too costly and there is another company that converts them but they want about 800.  This truck does not have many power hungry items on it,besides the lights it just has turnsignals and a radio and thats it.
