Hi All,
Back in the 70-80s you could get different colored hardeners for your filler ,but now I only find it in pink.
By changing the color with the coats you could really tell where you were low or high.
and now with my old eyes I need all the help I can get.
so Irene told me to try mixing in food color with the hardener,It may work, may not.
any one got other ideas?
thanks Russ

NAPA has it in Blue.

When we packaged hardener at the chemical plant I worked in, we used an oil based dye.  I believe food coloring is alcohol based I would worry about it bleeding into the paint.

You could just guide coat the filler before sanding.

I like white. I can then tell what the mix looks like. This muddy red when mixed with Dura-Glass doesn't tell you much.

Try the 3M black powder guide coat, it works good, very easy to use. Doesn't clog your sandpaper like spray paint.
