700r4 Slips on Take Off

Local mecchaic installed B&M governor blue spring & #4 weight. Tranny now slips on mild take off then will "catch" & lurch forward with 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. Please advise. Tranny was working perfect before change it's a mild build in a '69 Camaro w/350 SBC.

You say it worked perfectly before. So I know it might seem like a dumb question but. Why was something fixed that wasn't broke?

I should have said it wasn't slipping, I'll change that. The car was shifting at about 4000 RPM's WOT, not max. RPM.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like the car is taking off in second and when it gets going and you give it enough pull on the TV cable, it downshifts and then lurches forward.  He could have gotten some dirt in the governor or did something to make it stick, preventing it from fully downshifting when coming to a stop.

I just found out the mechanic removed, then reinstalled the servo, no explanation why!! Could that be the problem, if so what needs to be done?

Problem Solved.   Governor wasn't seated correctly in the housing.
