I know it may sound dumb,but sometimes when the ignition switch gets hung up a little on the start side, the brake warning and all sorts of wierd things happen.Also,if on the brake warning switch,where there are usually 2-3 wires,if some brake fluid may be present,has a habbit of coducting heat,causing a short to happen.If you don't belive this look at all the
Fords that had a recall on all the the cruise cut off switches that were mounted on the master cylinder.these cars actually caught on fire.This was do to the brake fluid sitting on the contacts of the switches due to seeping throught the switch,from the master cylinder where they are screwed into.
