1962 Falcon

I actually got the new 200cid  engine in the Falcon and running.  I took the engine to the machine shop in october 2003.  It's a long story on why it took 5 yrs to get the engine finished.



Usual engine stuff on this ol 6 banger:

.030 bored over  cast pistons
Deck cut so  piston is only .005 in the hole
Log head was milled .045 to raise compression
Ports were mildly ported and clean up under the valves
Rotating assembly was balanced
ARP bolts and studs in the bottom end
Clay Smith camshaft.. 224* @ .050 with .450 lift , installed 2* advanced
Accel digital 300+ ignition box with OEM electronic dizzy for triggering.

Very Nice, I have an Aussie 62 sedan and I am building the motor at the moment, we are building a 221 cu. in. 6 cylinder and have done the same mods as yours but with a killer cam.

I plan on removing the cylinder head from the car....  

I will mill out the intake log area and weld on a mount for Holley 2 barrel carb  to bolt directly onto the head.

Tony....Instead of a 2-bbl in the center,why not add two more 1bbl flanges centered between the current mount & the ends of the manifold ??
Then run 3  1-bbls .....MUCH better distribution....This was a fairly common set-up "back in the day" .......I remember an article some place where they used a hole saw to open up the manifold.....Then welded on the flanges...

Nice Falcon. I had a black Futura with red inside when I was in the Army in Germany in 1970. That little 6 was a good engine.
