I have always hated black rubber hoses so I got some material for a mock up

In this case I saved up some toilet roll centres much to my wifes amusement

They were easier to cut and tape than anything else plus they were free

Once I had a shape that would work I went to the stainless bends place in East Tamaki and purchased some bends

I also cut up some 5mm bits to tig on the ends to stop the hoses sliding off

Just have to finish welding the lips on the bottom one then polish it and all done ones less job to do

The job is not finished until the toilet paper comes out. That adds new meaning to the phrase. Good job.

For longer tube mock-ups use the center from paper towel rolls.. :idea: ..Same diameter ..3 times as long...  :?
For REALLY long applications ....Christmas gift wrapping paper rolls  :!:  :-}

Add to this tip the one someone gave about using styrofoam to mock up a radiator size and I now know all I need to design my cooling system! Thanks guys!

For finding a hose at the parts store I use the flexible aluminum tubing that some cars have that goes from the bottom of the air cleaner intake to the top of the exhaust manifold. Not sure what it's called but you can buy it cheap and stretch it out to the contour you want and when you are done push it back into the straight tube till next time. Looks like a small dryer tube.
