My 37 chevy has been running worse over the last couple years and did not improve with the usual tune ups so it started to leak oil and I replaced it,now it runs better then it has ever has and now my 65 custom 500 is starting to act like the 37.  The pump had been on the 37 over 10 years but has less then 8000 miles on it and the 65 has been on the road for a little over 2 years and has about 12,000 miles on the pump,so is todays gas hard on the pumps and has anyone else had the same problems.  Jeff

at least i am also having problems with it out here in LA...     sometimes i have to crank for 45 seconds to get it to start...    it seems to evaporate out of the bowl and drain back to the tank... even with a new fuel pump and a new fuel filter right at the pump intake....

i am about to install a booster pump in the van...

it also gets really hard to start.. HOT>... i kinda understand that a 75 E250 with a 460 wedged in is going to run hot...
