I saw this TV cable system mentioned in the current issue of Street Rodder.  I'm almost ready to hook up my 700r4...has anyone on here had any first hand experience with this product?  It almost sounds too easy, therefore I'm a bit skeptical.  The link below is to the page on their website that gives product details.  Thanks.

They were at the Nashville GoodGuys event.  Spent some time looking at their cable set up and the controller they have for lockup GM transmissions.  Everything looks well made.  Pricey, I thought, considering the alternatives.  But, as with anything, you get what you pay for.

I am using a 700R-4 in my Model T.  So I am curious as well.

I've got over 45,000 mi on my 700R4 with no problem. I'm using a Lokar cable set-up and a special attachment for the Holley carb that gives the correct geometry. Seems to be a lot of companies that maintain the 700R4 requires a lot of black magic solutions

I've used the system from Bow Tie Overdrives and have been very happy with it.  Recently when I converted my 54 from a Holly to Edelbrock Injection, I got the necessary brackets from them to change the TV cable over and it hooked up with no trouble and pressures were just where they were supposed to be.  Bow Tie Overdrives gives you data with the kit that tells you where everything should be as far as pressures and will walk you through it if you need even if you install it on a copetetor's transmission.

I have been using the one Leon referred to from BowTie Overdrives. Very slick set up and easy to install. This is how it worked on my 750 Edelbrock:

What kind of costs are these compared to the other solutions? I'm having a hard time understanding why any of this should be $300! I think I'll be talking to Phat once I get to that point on my boy's 48 Sedan Delivery.

I don't know what carb you're using, but for an example the one that fits a Holley 4100 series carb is $120.  Check out their online catalog at the link in my previous post and look under "TV Made EZ Systems"

Check this link. This is the bracket I'm using and the price is $22.28. That's a lot different than $125-$300.

I used a similar unit like phat rat I bought at summitt for 20.95. Works great. Set the cable with about 1/16" slack and my tranny guy said all is well and he has to warranty the tranny. My part had a lot better finish than the one in the picture.

Looks as though it's the same part. Probably same manufacturer
