I haven't been on the RR for a while but since I'm finally getting to go to Bonneville this year I thought I would see if you veterans have any good tips.  We're going to be camping at the "bend in the road".  Will be there from Sunday to Wednesday.

put sun screen on the "underside " of places exposed to the sun.  the reflection off the salt will burn the skin in places not in direct sun light.

Remember every thing at B-ville is in miles.

The pit is about 1 mile long.

It is about 3 miles to the start line from the tech & pit areas.

carry water with you!

A hat and good sun glasses are a must.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"

Take a good pair of binoculars so you can see what is going on across those mile.  With a good pair you can almost see someone run the whole 5 mile course.

Take a CB radio so you can hear the times.  They are also most of the time broadcasted on AM radio also.  The CB is the timing tower and the AM is speeds and other info.

By a program and rule book, so you know what you are looking at.

Duct tape plastic to the inside floor of your vehicle and tape the ribs on the pedals.  You will have salt ground into the floor other wise and all of the cracks.

If you want to know what is going on from the racers side and just good info so you know what is going on also read this.......

Make sure you take insect repellent. When the sun goes down, be prepared. Take everything with you that you can possibly need. You can't buy much in Wendover. There are no creature comforts so Bring whatever it takes for you to survive. Last and most important: be very respectful of the salt. Anything that is detrimental to the salt will be dealt with harshly. No spinning the tires, no turning kitties, no peeing, etc. If you can't stand heat and sun, limit your exposure time to stay in good enough shape to last how long you will be there. Don't loose all your money in the casinos.

I drove through west Wendover recently and saw all the casinos.
Can you get rooms there or are they keeping them for the gambling type?

Harry,

With all due respect to my pal Sam, I think what Sam meant is that they all seem to get reserved on 1/1. Actually rooms will become available over the next couple weeks as guys change their minds and cancel.

Google Wendover and get the list of motels/hotels in Wendover, UT & NV and make a few call. You might get lucky.

They have put the word out on go carts. You need to look at the SCTA/BNI web site. There is a lot of good info posted on there along with their "rules".

Sammy - about time - LOL.
