The TH700R4 I installed recently in the roadster works great.

I have no tachometer but I feel like at full throttle this transmission  upshifts at too low RPM. For sure at lower RPM than the former TH350.

At full throttle the TV cable is at full lenght, so it's not the problem.

I suspect this transmission coming from a diesel truck.

To solve this problem I can switch the governor to a Corvette one. But I have to order it from the USA.

So is it possible to safely grind the weights of the actual governor? How to know how much?

Since you don't have a tach (shame on you) this probably won't help much, but mine upshifts at WOT in all gears right at 5000 and I have the vette type governor.  It even does the shift from 3rd to overdrive at 5000.

I might be wrong, but I think you can just order the weights if that would work.  I'm sure Tony can give you an answer on this.

model a vette

Gilles-
I think the cable adjustment, on a 700r4, is more complicated than just fully extended at WOT. Maybe one of the guys here can give you the method of adjustment.

Full pull of the TV cable at WOT is correct.

The  weights on the govenor  have the most effect on the WOT up shifts.

You can change the gov, change the  gov weights or grind the weights ( inner & outer)

Thanks for the replies. I will try to grind the weights.
