I cracked a cylinder wall, and ended up kicking a rod out of the little 470 low deck stroker last fall. Told the wife I was gettin' pretty tired of building engines out of 40 year old castings. This is a tall deck wedge block, 4.375 bore and is clearanced for a 4.5 in stroke. I have a Callie's 4.5 crank on order. :-o  Should be here in a couple of weeks. Next up is a set of 7.10 long aluminum rods and a set of flat top pistons. 540 inches and 150 pounds light should prove to be a fun little ride!! I got a best of 9.40 @ 140.9 mph out of the little motor........and that was on street tires with mufflers.

Steel blocks don't flex, they break. You knew that already. I ran different clearances on the bottom on a steel block versus alum. It sure looks great.
