I'm building a 326 for a 67 Pontiac Tempest. The gasket kit came with a rope rear main seal. I've been trying to find a replacement two piece neoprene lip seal like I've used for other older engines. My NAPA guy looked at several different mfgs and couldn't find one.
Anybody here know if someone makes one?

I would check with your local engine machine shop/rebuilder. I bet they could hook you up with one that would work.

B.O.P. Engineering sells a lip seal to replace the rope one.  http://www.bopengineering.com/

Those 326's can be really good little engines.

Thanks George,
I knew one of the RRT wizards would be able to help me out. I hate those old rope seals, they're a PITA to install and I always wonder when it's gonna start leaking. Thanks again.
