chimp koose

I have factory coils in my suspension for two reasons. If a spring should fail ,there is probably one on the shelf of a local parts store. I have also read that the larger the coil diameter (not the wire),the greater the service life of the part,so theoretically ,a factory coil should outlive a coilover. To calculate how much longer the coil has to be at ride height (or how much shim to use) remove a shock and measure installed height as it sits now, then raise the car to desired ride height and measure again.Since the shock is inside the coil(I think)on this suspension, that should tell you how thick the spacer needs to be.
