Here's some pics of the change out of the gauge cluster in my 61 Chrysler that T-Vicky did a couple weeks ago.

I know most everyone will like the original cluster, but I didn't, so new gauges.

After:

Pics of the whole process:

The guages are nice...................but................

Kind of looks like a sprint car dash.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Carnut

Heh,heh, Harry I've been staring at that factory cluster for 15yrs now and I never liked them the first day I looked at them.

Time for a change.

Not like the car is a restored classic or anything.

Yeah maybe sprint car like, for me it's just simple, I like simple.

One other thing I really like with new gauges is Numbers, I really
like seeing real numbers and not just 'ranges'.

My rides have always bordered on the verge of Rat Rod before the term
actually existed. I just call it 'the way I've always done it' style.

ebay the fishbowl...   you should be able to get close to what the new gauges cost...

in fact... i just searched... there are no fishbowls. on ebay...

in 1987.. when i worked at the resto shop they needed one for a 300  crossram car...   the boss payed 600.00 for one...

just a thought....

That fishbowl looks real good hanging on my shop wall.  I will find something to put it in someday.

Yeah, the fishbowl and the 12V to 110V transformer that runs those darn
electroflourescent lights.

What???...no tachometer????? what kind of hot rodder are you?

I like it, simple and efficent, I did a very similar dash for a 62 Falcon a few years ago.    Jbird 8)

Heh,heh, well yes, there is a tach, I had to have something to fit over the original rear view mirror hole.

Course I'll have to admit the tach has been there inoperable for 15yrs and T-Vicky just got it hooked up in the gauge changover.

New gauge set up looks cool. If I could make a small suggestion,It would look neater with some plastic or rubber beading around the edges[small diameter hose with a slit or similar]........Frank.

15 years on the tach. Pretty patient.
