Real progress

This weekend was spent trying to repair everything that sucked. I pulled the efi harness off and put it on the table for a complete inspection. I measured the actual travel of my clutch master and found I wasn't using all of it. I fixed that which promptly caused the pedal bracket to fail. I pulled the pedal assy. off and rebuilt it using 3/16" plate. Sunday after going all through the harness and not finding what I expected, I reinstalled it on the truck. Still no tps voltage. I mess around with no results. While it's running poorly, I find that my pedal mods have now made the clutch operational. Later in the day, a friend brings another computer by to try. In between the 2 of us we have 4 computers. Same result with all. Safe to rule out the ecm. I finish the day out working on the locking storage under the bed floor. Later, it crosses my mind that maybe the problem isn't that I have too much drain on the voltage but not enough to start with. At 5:30 this morning I go to the shop and pull out the 2 relays in the harness. I replace them with 2 from my recent ebay stash and woo hoo. I have tps voltage. I fired it up and it's not perfect yet but way closer and no engine light. I've spent at least 15 hours looking for the source of the problem and looked in all the wrong places. Things are looking up at Christmas time. I may beat Dave after all.

you'll have to donate it to the Gates (bill) foundation, they'll be the only organization that could handle that size donation.
