55 Chevy glove box

I need a measurement on a 55 Chevy car glove box. I need the didtance from the hinge to the back of the box, measured at the bottom. TIA

Well, that sucks, I have 5" of room! I guess I'll have to modify the new one when it gets here.

It has A/C but it is also in a 47 GMC truck too.

Just curious as I have seen a few glove boxes cut down because of a/c installation.  Some of the aftermarket companies offer a smaller glove box liner to accomodate the a/c unit.  Good luck

The original glove box in the Ugly Olds was "shortened" 4- 1/2" to allow room for A/C goodies....Really easy to do & more "user friendly" ....
