Day time running lights

Hi ,
I want to put daytime running lights on a truck,
can I just use a bosch relay,and wire it so when you turn the key to run that the headlights will come on low beam?
I don't think it will interfear with the normal light switch functions.
Anyone do this?
I know I can just turn the lights on .
I'm lazy

It is possible to do it that way but most DRL modules reduce the voltage supplied to the light by up to 25% to reduce the load on the lamp and increase its MTBF rate. I would look into buying one of the kit modules if I intended for this to be a long term solution.

Just run with your headlights on, I always run with the lights on my hotrod, I want to be seen.

i was looking for pilot lights.. and found this


look at page 6 it has the running lamp module with a bunch of really usefull options...like 10 second e delay on start up... turning off when the parking brake is set and the ignition is on. 75% brightness except when you flash the hi beams...(the parking brake shut off option works with the parking brake warning switch, grounds when applied  fyi)
