Have 2 trannys I would like to identify as to what they were originally in. Tag numbers:

OG,  222-1T850G0445 and OG, 074-2T830G1553

Any ideas as to which would be the best to rebuild and use?

Can't seem to find any info on the web.  May be searching for the wrong thing.  :?

Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.   :)

Neither one is anything special, the first one came from an 85 model car with a 307 Olds engine. The second is the same application, but an 83 model

OG = Buick... 5.0 liter motor

222 .. 074 = julian date

1T850G0445 = 1st shift...T= three rivers plant, 85= model yr, OG = model, 0445= serial number

don't hold me to this as hard info... I'm reading a sheet I copied from a old manual

Thanks for the info.  Now I have a place to start.  Talked to a local rebuilder this evening and he suggested the TCI lockup kit and a convertor with a stall about 5-600 rpm over stock.  This guy has a good reputation and builds a lot of race trannys.  Hope I don't get burned.  :?  Any suggestions on where to get the lockup kit and the convertor?  Don't have a lot to spend but want to do it once and then drive the tires off of it. Thanks again for the info.
