1)  When I was driving my car last Sunday at highway speeds, I noticed a repetitive hum,  it would happen about once a second, we will say... sorta of a "hmm.......hmm.....hmm.."  Is this lope from a larger cam, that I am just not used to hearing?  Car drives & tracks straight, no shimmy, not  drifting or pulling.  Any thoughts /ideas.

2)  Car is idling fast, won't kick down.  How do I adjust or lubricate the choke?

3)  What temp should my engine be running, it was running about 190 to 200 degrees all day on Sunday.  It was only in the 50's and I was on the highway.  350 Chevy Small Block

4)  Exhaust tips, my son saw some at the swap meet.  Thought we should get some, I did not take the bait.  These were very cheap, $8 a pair, Walmart specials.  I have dual exhaust stainless, if I get  some, are they welded in place or screwed and what is a good price for a good set.  Or should I just do without?  I assume welding is better than using a screw to attach.

5)  I have a GM 350 Auto-transmission.  What does that mean, 350, I have heard 450, hydroglide, etc, etc..  Is 350 good, bad, indifferent.  Can someone give me a primer? or suggest a site for me to learn

Thanks
Would plastic be okay for you today?

1 No Idea, but it may be harmless. Does it do it on all roads, or just dertain ones?

2 You may have to bend the choke linkage to fix this, if you don't know what to bend, find someone who does.

3 If you have a 195 thermostat, that's about right. If it's not heating up, then that temp is fine.

4 Stainless Specialties, and NevR Rust have nice polished stainless tips, about $25 to $35 each, I like them welded on.

5 Roughly speaking, that is the torque the original design was intended to see from the engine. But that is not entirely true, a 700R4 is only good for about 350 ft lb torque.

GM and others were good for giving transmissions powerful sounding names, Hydromatic, Dual range Hydromatic, Rotohydromatic, Dynaflow, turboglide, powerglide, Turbohydramatic, Super turbine 400. None of it means much except most of them are different models. You probably have a 350 Turbohydramatic.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.
