Turbo Hydramatic 350C

I took the bullet nose Stude out for the first trip down the road yesterday. I don't like the way this trans shifts. No slippage when it gets into gear but it seems to slide________ into second and third. I wonder if this is normal for this trans with a lock up converter?
 Everything else worked and nothing fell off. Gotta get the front end aligned as the wheel doesn't return after a corner, ya gotta steer it out.
 I did have to change the lowering blocks in the rear, had a rub going on with the driveshaft.
And, lean on the throttle with those three carbs and  hang on. It goes real well.
