Greetings from Istanbul,

We are trying to rebuild my 1987 700R4 transmission and we have to change the input drum, and we couldnt find same model input drum here in Istanbul. We found a 93 up input drum, which has bigger and 4 corner oil hole than existing small round oil hole.We check the part numbers, and manuel gives 3 diffirent part number for 82-86\87-92\93 up, so can we use 93 up input drum instead of 87-92.

Thanks for any help :?:

the drums are different is some ways. they are fully swappable.

you must watch the clutch pack stack up in the forward clutch pack ( middle pack of 3) and watch the 3-4 setup too.

the 2 friction pack in the bottom ( over run clutch) is the same.  ON top of this pack the pressure plate has 2 designs ; thick & thin.... thin is late design.

1987 is a cross over year of the 700 for several updates in design.

post back if there are more questions
