My brother in law called this morning and the brakes on his Dodge truck act like they are on all the time......
Here's what happened It's been about 3 weeks sense he drove his truck
but prior to that he had put power steering fluid in the master cly.drove the truck around the block then discorved what he had done and removed all the fluid in the master cly and replaced it with new brake fluid
Then today this problem shows up......
So I'm guessing they are related is that Right? If not anyone have any ideas on what it might be. He says it "seems" to be front only
What is the best way to fix the problem?

Yup, the power steering fluid did it. All the rubber and seals in the system are swelled up. He will have to rebuild or replace all wheel cylinders and calipers, replace all rubber hoses, rebuild or replace the master cylinder, and flush the system completely with isopropyl alcohol, before installing new brake fluid.

Thanks Frank!
Next problem...... We have no brake pressure to the rear brakes
We have it from the master to the proportioning valve in but nothing out do we need to replace this also?

Aren't power steering hoses made of rubber?

We see this about once a month....Unfortunately, it's like the man said....The correct repair is to replace EVERY part in the system that contains rubber of any kind......Sad but true....Brake system parts are real RUBBER...For a real eye opener, take a wheel cyl cup or dust boot & let it sit in some petroleum for a day or two...Instant " Supersize" ..    Oh....Power steering & other hyd hoses are usually lined with neoprene...Cheap fix?? None that we've ever found.... :(  :(

different types....

tranny fluid will not swell up a hydraulic type hose we use.

I installed a piece of tranny hose on a fuel system one time...... only one time!
