Welcome aboard.  I tend to agree about the '40 Olds but it's only the grill that unappealing to me.  If the grill bars were just extended across like the Chevys, the front end would be nicer looking....IMHO.

I have a '47 Olds convert.

Your topless crusn buddy, Denise

Looking for old good for nothing flathead heads to use for garden project.

Welcome to RRT.  I have a '55 Olds 324 out in the garage, can I be in the club?

Why does spellcheck tell me I should change RRT to RAT.  I think it got its Hot Rod Web forums confused.

The 40s have the same issue as my 41, I think, the headlights are too close together.  However, they do grow on you with time.

That's what makes them "unique"...Mine has a "Argentina Special" cast aftermarket grille so it makes it even harder to recognize...It sure is fun when you put "1940 Unknown" on the windshield sticker ..Amazing the number of people whose uncle had a '40 Packard "just like yours" ...
