hey guys,
thanks again for the help.
wow, don, you look busy, smile
thanks for the great pictures,
jusjunk, thanks for your postings, i have a couple books and they describe your technique of vertical splitting in the rears,
for some reason i feel better going in to this, with the doors on, so my cuts are even.
but im still at a loss for the bfh door adjustments,
the hinges are so small and thick, what are you bending when you use a bfh ?

The flat part of the hinge. This allows the door to fit the opening better.

My suggestion would be to recondition the body the way you want it before chopping it. Then reassemble it, welding the structure together so it stays in place, fitting the doors as you go. Then install temporary bracing in the body to hold the shape, remove the doors, and chop the top. After chopping the top, reinstall the doors with the tops cut off, and chop the doors to fit the top. If you chop it first, then disassemble it, you may find that nothing fits correctly on reassembly.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.
