Composite set-up.  Factory service manual says some can be adjusted(have adjusters)/some can't. Not much else. That is helpful.
This has adjusters..and it looks to me like you can't adjust them. They aren't really accessible.Looks like they are factory set.
Ok..now the adjusters are horizontal screws. They go into some sort of fitting..on the screw alone(with some thread exposed..ya nice and rusty  )and come out the other side with some thread exposed. Hunh?..NOW it gets weeerd.
On top of these adjusters comng out the top of this fitting is a vertical metal rod..oh no..of course it does not have any screw or bolt head on it.Smooth. These things will have to be grabbed by pliers if I wanna touch it. Now these are easily accessible  .
Looks like a rear end..but in very small scale. 1 smooth metal vertical rod going down to a fitting..and a threaded screw cominng out both sides horizontally at right angles.

I am GUESSING that if I turn..pull? this metal rod that there is some way this will allow the adjuster to move?. Looks to me like this is only there to lock/secure the position of the adjuster. I am guessing again  that these are set on the assembly line and then maybe staked?

This fitting does not look very substantial.Does not look like it will take much twisting or pulling force. Looks like if ya break this..you are left with a wobbling headlight that will be very hard to fix.

Anyone know about this? Me thinks  a trip to the boneyard to find 2 more of these that work and figger out how they work before I touch it is a very good plan. Thanks..Arnold..

   Duh..sorry..on an Escort..

I think that is a good plan too. Some of these adjusters won't take any force at all. What make of car is it?
