The hydraulic throw out bearing is nice.  I think Hooley used one on the race car.  It saves on some external pieces.

This is to show you how dumb a person can be. I have bee through hydralic actuated clutches with the early '60s Chevy truck stuff and the dual master cylinders and the check valve/no check valve stuff and the pedals. At the time it seemed to be the best solution for the "goota have a standard transmission" mind set. I bought a new Ford ranger mini truck in "86 (?) and put 65,000 miles on it before my accident. We sold it and after a couple of years we bought a junky '84 ranger for my mobile compost pile. While sorting out an electrical problem on it I discovered that it had a hydralic clutch and the '86 probably had one too. That's a bunch of miles without a care just in my case. I've had a lot more trouble with mechanical clutch linkage. There, now I've typed half a page and not answered your question. GPster

For the setup you specified, the bores are usually about the same.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

I ran a slave cylinder with a '66 Chevy truck master cylinder for years on the '27. Never had to bleed it or otherwise touch it. It made what would have been a two-legger into a very smooth, easy to push clutch setup.

If I ever run another stick shift in anything I am going to try one of those ones that go on the input shaft of the transmission. They look very compact and simple.

As for bores, as mentioned, try to match the two if possible.

1 drawback (to me) is an internal t.o.brngs are a PIA to replace when they leak AND an unessassary expense plus you have to disconnect the line if you have to pull the bellhousing for some reason and i've got plenty of space....
now, if anybody has any suggestions as far as oem apps....i'm all ears

OEM as in one that mounts outside the bellhousing?  Only one I know of is the early to mid '60's Chevy truck application I am using. However, it looks like there are some others out there.

Do you think the leaking will be an issue? I can't see it being any more of a problem than any other hydraulic cylinder, like a wheel cylinder. They go thousands of miles without leaking, so the one that goes around the input shaft shouldn't be too much different.

My S-10 has an external hydraulic slave cyl and firewall mounted m/c

its an '83 4x4. sbc, 4 spd.
it was on it when I bought it, looks oem.

yes, its got a small block in it, yes, the 4 wheel drive works.

blows them away at the local AutoZone, can't find it in their 'puter

might look at S-10 for application  :?

Ive fooled with the s-10 stuff. They sure dont work right if they arent bled right. Other than that they work good. There is one in the hood here that we
broke a line somehow and i repaired the line and had to bleed it twice. I saw it yesterday in the neighbors yard, its still kickin. Too bad we cant get them pine trees in it
