We were just talking about this today at work.  If you go to a Federal Prison aka "CLUB FED" it isn't like you are in with hardened criminals and the like.  Your fellow prisoners are usually white collar criminals.

One guy at work had a friend who went to Federal Prison for 6 years. While he was in there, they had tennis, a gym, free access to the kitchen, computers, etc.  His friend started an internet business WHILE IN PRISON.

I'm sure it isn't all peaches and cream, but it seems like it is nowhere like the prisons we see on TV for regular criminals.
