hi,
We have an old lincoln town car 1991,the wipers now stop when they are up on the windshield, thay will not park.
Is this in the switch or in the motor? anyone know how to fix them?
Thanks Russ&Irene :?

Most wiper motors have a park feature built into the wiper motor.  They are designed to power the motor until it reaches the park position after you turn off the switch.  This is often done with a contact that rubs on a rotating disk inside the motor.  At the park position there is an open area on the disk and the power is shut off to the motor and the wiper stops in the right position.  You may have a problem with this contact and the rotating disk or with no power to the hot wire that feeds the park operation of the wiper motor.  Get a wiring diagram and find the lead for the park feature and see if you have power to the motor.
