engine shut off delay

hey guys what causes this?  When I shut I turn the key off it takes a extra second to shut down?

Electric fan or alternator might be back feeding through the ignition system.  I think the fan on my old truck is causing the same effect.  It runs for a few seconds after you shut off the ignition when it is hot, and then dies.  I left it like that.  If I time it right, I can get out of the truck and start to walk away when it dies.  I think you could put a diode in the fan circuit to eliminate the problem.  Just speculating.

Put a diode in the circuit and that will fix it. The alternator can cause feed back also. I had to do that on my 34 .
