I need your experiences and opinions please!

Is there a problem running hard lines to my trany cooler from my tranny? I see on my daily driver, that they are hard lines the entire lenght.

I was thinking of putting a small section of rubber hose in between lines from the frame to the tranny, but I see that 3/8 (I think its 3/8) brake lines bolt up direclty, and that is also how the factory lines are on my 97 Explorer, and my 76 F100, and my 91 Firebird.

Am I over thinking this? Is there that much movment of the tranny to cause stress of the cooler lines? Can I just NOT bolt them to the frame any closer to the tranny than a couple of feet to allow movment and let the lines absorb the movment?

Its a 1935 Ford PU, with overly healthy 302 Ford and C4 Tranny.

I can acutally not attach the lines to the frame for a good 3 feet (under the motor mounts)and they can hold their position and not look sloppy.

Thanks for your help.

I ran 3/8" steel lines all the way on my Coupe.
got about 2500 miles on it so far, no leaks.
I figger if the big 3 can do it, so can I.  8)

Lets put it this way, I've seen more leaks from rubber hose than I have from hard lines.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.
