I've been working on the faux gas station front inside my shop.  Probably about 40% finished. The gas station front  is on hold for bit though.

For the past year I have thought seriously about having the laser eye surgery to correct my far sighted eyes. My left eye had worse vision due to astigmatism in it caused by surgery on the eye ball in 1978.

On tuesday I had the laser surgery in both eyes. A little over 48 hours post - op I am happy to report I can see clearly again.

My vision is some what blurred / fuzzy on close up items in this early stage of healing.  Any thing that is arms length or closer I need a reading type glasses for. Due to my age (50+) I was aware a set of reading glasses would be needed

I can read the dash of my truck or Goldwing easily now.

Very happy guy at this point.

It is an amazing surgery! My vision would be easily corrected with like surgery but do to the fact I have vision in only one eye....nobody will perform the procedure.I am aware of the consequences of a failed attempt and have offered to sign a release form relieving them from any liability if the operation goes "South" but still no takers  :x ...Guess I'm stuck wearing these damned glasses   Really glad it turned out well for you Tony!

had it done a couple of years ago, took a chance on my night vision (pupils were borderline large i guess),well, it's a cool light show at night but with some $$$$ eyedrops, i can see decent.

gortta wear reading glasses though and some REAL strong ones for dash work....

so, now that you can see the goldwing, is it a good thing?
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it\'s still on my list

I had it done 2 years ago, but only one eye.  When I went for the initial consultation, the Doc set up a  machine that showed how I would see distance and then close.  Distance was great but close was blurry.  I said it was great that I would be able to drive without glasses, but I would like to read the instruments too!  So he suggested having one eye done.  The brain sorts out what it sees and takes the best image and ignores the other.  Sort of like the principle they use to correct "lazy eye", the cover up the good eye forcing the "lazy" one to straighten out.  If I do any amount of close up stuff though, I put glasses on, but for most daily activities it works just fine.  Tom..

Glad to hear everything went well.  Now that you can see the speedometer on that Goldwing maybe you can keep it down under a hundred once in a while.

Let's see a picture of what you're doing to your shop.

Sometimes my vision is blurred in the evenings, but I think it may be induced by adult beverages.

I am happy the surgery worked for you.  I miss my good vision.

Glad the surgery went  well. So now you can see better looking out, but do you look any better to people looking in?? :?

thanks for the comments.

I currently have the 'halo effect' from lights at night. Mine is primarily an added reflection above the light.  Mine should diminish in time ( I hope), it was explained to me that they may never go away.

Same deal with me on my left eye. My brain would tend to ignore the bad vision in it. With glasses my lazy eye became better. Now I hope all goes well with both.

Not sure I can do that.    It will be great to not have to wear glasses to ride.   2 weeks ago on a group ride up some hills & twisties in the Prescott area I had a BWM rider tell me that he had never seen a Goldwing riden that fast  while the bike was 2-up through the hills we rode on.  May have been BS , but  I thanked him for the comment.

I can see ( get it?) both sides here. Since I've had the surgery I sure understand your desire for it. I can also see the doctors line of thinking. My be an insurance carrier on his back too.

I have NOT  signed so * many forms and initialed so many places before...... cept buying a house.

I went up to Canada (Gimbels in Calgary) a couple of years ago, to get Lasik done, but they did not like the shape of my eyes, so would not do it.  Things have deteriated enough since then, that I cannot be corrected with contacts any more.  I had to give up my Serengetti sunglasses!!  Now back in regular glasses.  The guy I went up with was able to get it done, and has been real happy with the results.  I would have it done in a minute if I could.
