We went down to the Bowman auction of cars and parts in Mansfield Ohio today. We left about 1 and they were not 1/2 way through the parts. There was a ton of stuff there, but most of the good stuff had already been sold.

There were literally piles of A parts, engines, trans, rears, axles, frames, grille shells, hoods, fenders, and on and on. Two 30-31 coupes, one decent, the other so so. A 38 Convertible sedan, a 39 convertible sedan, both decent, needed total restoration. A pristine 33 grille, painted, bid started at $3,000 one fair 34 grille, $1600, and one good one, $2000 two 40 coupe deck lids went at $1600 each. Some V8 speed equipment, heads Thickstun, Offy, SAE several pairs, V8 60 heads by Offy, three V8 60 engines and a couple blocks, about 20 8BA, 59AB and other flatheads. Piles of 16 and 17 inch wires, but only one set of Kelseys that I saw, lots of steel wheels and hub caps, most of them rough. About 40 94 and 97 carbs, some new rebuilds in the box, glass bowl Holleys, WCFB, and old Rochester 4 barrels. There was a tent full of auto related literature, some real rare stuff, but a lot of it in bad shape from dampness. Two pallets of old licence plates, mostly Ohio and Michigan.

Outside of the convertibles sedans, there were about 40 other cars, most of them had been stored outside, and showed it. A couple should have been left where they were setting, not worth dragging them out. Outside of the A coupes, there were 2 33-34 pickups, both rough, and several 39 to 48 Ford sedans in various states of decay. Just about all of them were parts cars only.

I didn't buy anything, there were a lot of dealers there, so any good stuff was going high, it will all be at Hershey in a couple weeks
